Django: reliable web application boundaries
A complete theory course in request handling, templates, forms, data models, access control, testing, transactions, and deployment evidence.
Start learningIn this course
Learn Django through explicit responsibilities and testable contracts. Eighteen lessons connect project structure and HTTP to forms, ORM behavior, authorization, query costs, concurrent writes, secure configuration, and operational readiness. Each lesson provides explained examples, diagnostic mistakes, and complete worked exercises.
The tested baseline is Django 5.2.18 on Python 3.12.3. Complete programs configure synthetic settings and run locally, using only in-memory SQLite or their own temporary files. Application and deployment fragments remain non-runnable and identify the surrounding project requirements. No example uses a configured application database or real service.
What you will learn
- Trace project settings, routing, middleware, views, and response contracts.
- Validate approved input and enforce authenticated resource scope.
- Design models and reviewed migrations without confusing validation and constraints.
- Measure ORM work and protect concurrent transitions.
- Test boundaries honestly and plan secure deployment and recovery evidence.

Who this is for
- Python developers learning structured server-side web development.
- Web developers strengthening Django validation, access, data, and deployment boundaries.
Before you start
- Python functions, classes, exceptions, modules, and virtual environments.
- Basic HTML forms, HTTP concepts, and relational-data familiarity.
- A reviewed Django 5.2 environment for complete examples; no production project is required.
