In this course

Study eighteen developed lessons in three ordered levels. Follow a user operation through identity, network, compute, data, asynchronous processing, telemetry, and recovery. Each lesson includes two explained examples, three diagnostic mistakes, two worked exercises, objectives, takeaways, and specific official AWS references.

All real AWS policies, templates, CLI or service configuration examples remain non-runnable. Verified Python programs use only public synthetic in-memory values and no AWS SDK. The course creates no account or resource, reads no credentials or bill, contacts no service, and performs no cloud, network, administrative, deployment, security-scanning, or load operation.

What you will learn

  • Explain AWS resource scope and shared responsibility with explicit service-mode assumptions.
  • Review identity, connectivity, data, events, telemetry, and infrastructure effects as distinct contracts.
  • Use evidence to evaluate security, reliability, recovery, capacity, cost, and governance decisions.

Three levels

Basic: cloud scope and core boundaries

Understand responsibility, identity, VPC paths, EC2 lifecycles, S3 data, and cost controls before selecting resources.

  1. Cloud boundaries, Regions, and accounts
  2. IAM roles and policy evaluation
  3. VPC routing and network controls
  4. EC2 compute and storage lifecycle
  5. S3 objects, access, and recovery
  6. Cost, quotas, and account guardrails

Intermediate: application service contracts

Connect relational data, functions, routing, events, telemetry, and infrastructure review into an observable delivery system.

  1. RDS data availability and access
  2. Lambda invocation and concurrency
  3. Load balancing, DNS, and TLS
  4. Queues, events, and idempotency
  5. Monitoring, audit, and incident evidence
  6. Infrastructure as code and change review

Advanced: reliability, security, and governance

Evaluate surviving capacity, encryption recovery, disaster response, efficiency, account policy, and architecture trade-offs.

  1. Reliability, failure domains, and scaling
  2. Encryption, secrets, and security response
  3. Backup, disaster recovery, and reconciliation
  4. Performance, capacity, and unit cost
  5. Multi-account governance and guardrails
  6. Architecture decisions, release, and recovery

Who this is for

  • Developers and infrastructure learners who need precise cloud models before operating AWS workloads.
  • Technical collaborators reviewing service choices, permission failures, reliability, cost, and recovery.

Before you start

  • Basic programming, HTTP, networking, and data concepts; relevant boundaries are reviewed in context.
  • No AWS account, payment method, access key, cloud subscription, or administrative permission is required.
